American Society for Horticultural Science

In 1961, it had 2,226 active members (holding a degree and engaged in research), 42 Emeritus members and 90 Sustaining members (corporations or companies interested in horticultural research).〔
It produces a semi-annual publication and held annual meetings.〔
It awards the Vaughn Award (named after Leonard H Vaughn,〔 President of a seed company and former school board president,) for outstanding contributions to horticulture.
